At birth I had many health issues and doctors and teachers did not believe I would thrive. But the love and support of my mother created a strong desire to keep going against the odds.
Meet My Mom
Effie Gillard loved the Lord and instilled this love into me. This ultimately led to my path of becoming a servant to the Lord and Church. My mother always said that I can do anything with a little encouragement. Her belief in me kept me trying when others said I wouldn’t succeed.
When trying to pass the CDL exam for a job, I had difficulty with the written exam. When I came home frustrated, my mother, who was 81-years-old, encouraged me to go back. When I returned, the woman working had noticed my trials from before. She gave me a recorder and headset instead of a booklet and I aced the exam!
Without the support and belief of my mother, I would not have continued my studies and career.
